Mary Raglan
Mary Raglan
Mary - a seamless lace raglan pullover knitting pattern
Mary is more than your average raglan. Featuring hip shaping, optional bust darts, fine finishing techniques, and compound shaping - this seamless bottom up sweater will be one you reach for again and again.
The Mary Raglan is designed in a breathable lace stitch pattern, making it the perfect sweater for all day wear without overheating. The dramatic gathered sleeves are shaped on the outer wrist to minimize rubbing between the sleeves and the body. Additionally, the bell shape of this sweater ensures a perfect fit through your neck and shoulders, with a cozy oversized fit you love around your waist and hips. Mary is worked seamlessly from the bottom up.
Construction
Mary is worked seamlessly in the round from the bottom up.
Optional Bust Shaping
Optional instructions for adding short rows for bust shaping, in four sizes, give you your best fit.

Your best fit
Choose the size closest to your actual upper chest measurement: 31 (34.25, 37.5, 40.75) [44, 47.25, 50.5] (53.75, 57, 59.25, 61.5) inches / 78.5 (87, 95.5, 103.5) [112, 120, 128.5] (136.5, 145, 150.5, 156) cm
Upper chest is measured above the full bust, at an angle close to diagonal beneath the underarms, and straight across the back.
Mary is designed to fit with approximately 2 inches / 5 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust.
If you need additional room for the bust, working the optional short row shaping will give you the best fit in the shoulders and armholes, while still making room for your chest. Short rows add length to the front only of the garment, so that the hem does not rise in the front.
Elizabeth is wearing size 2, with 2 inches / 5 cm of positive ease at the full bust. Her upper chest is 34 inches / 85 cm.
